Glad to see Vern’s on his way—barn is stuffed with upgrade tools and I could really use the space lol.

Good for you to be prepared! Verne will start within 40 hours...
Take a good look on the number of the update, it must be 7.8.0
Two other things to keep in mind:
If you have received the update, your Town will not be available to those who do not have the update yet.
So, among other things, it affects the aircraft crate task and co-op assistance.
The second point is that purchasing chests on the Market now costs a maximum of 20 T-cash and after the update has been activated it will increase to 30 T-cash each.
Most information about this update is from Teddy&Becky FB group.

Another backward movement in the value of T-cash after activating this update: Zoo families are reduced from 20 T-cash to 12 T-cash per zoo enclosure.
The completion of collections in the Museum will go from 5/10/15 T-cash to 3/5/8 T-cash.
So if you can complete anything, do it before the update.
Is this inflation or a very desirable birthday present for Playrix?
Teddy and Becky thanks again!

Charlie, I noticed that I can't open your Town.
Thanks for the gift.
Can you still visit my Town?

I actually forgot there was an update til one of my coop members flagged for help and I couldn’t get in.
A message popped up but I didn’t see what it said because as soon as I hit her town icon I remembered.
Now the expansions used to take 3 -4 days to complete...now the take 4-5 ... so they’ve added a day there.
As if they didn’t take long enough

So the 'time' factor is also aggravated to the disadvantage of the player ...

Came to see if there was an explanation for the inaccessible towns...wondered if it was connected to the update.
Back when I got in a snit over the flags being taken, I swore that was the end of spending real money and I have stuck to that. Even still, I have more T$ than ever because i get so many ads to watch. Also, since I have everything else completed, I have way more coins than I need. So, while I will notice the decrease in the rewards (greedy, greedy, greedy), I mostly feel bad for the newer players who are still trying to get through all the buildings/factories/expansions/zoo. They can use all the help they can get.
Any game I’ve played has had some attempt to get you to part with your money but Township is the only one that does it by making changes to make the game harder. There is a fine line between challenge and frustration...not everybody can afford to be continually spending.

So, yes, it is caused by the update!
BTW I first noticed an update of 148 Mb, today it is only 40 something MB and even smaller on my phone. So I don't have the 8.7 version yet.
I also had the Movie guy every day, so my T cash was never a problem. Until some adds stayed on 'buffering'. Finally got 'help' from CS in the most dramatic way. That help consisted of changing some settings of my account. Result: no movieguy seen since! Yes, the 'buffering' has been resolved. But I still contradict the answers from CS, which advise restarting my device, then it should be completely resolved ...

This happens often in games that "communicate". In Township's case, in order to "visit" another town your version of the app needs to read the "town data" of the other town. If a newer version of the app introduces changes to that data, an older version of the app cannot understand the "town data" . It might be smart enough to tell you that the town you are visiting is from a "future version of me " and refuse to try to show / render the town. This is to prevent any damage your version might cause if it tried to "fill a train" and nor produce the right data for the newer version.
Most application that have this kind of issue build in "backwards compatibility", meaning the the newer (future) version can read and understand the "town data" for an older (past) version so with the update you could visit other towns but old towns cannot visit you.
So, in this case, until everyone is updated to V7.8 from their various stores, there will be these incompatibilities.

Very much agree with your post. It is SO refreshing then to play a mobile game that is not made as hard as the Playrix games, or, even better, to play a PC game, that I have simply bought for 6 Euro-something and doesn't consist of so many ads (that last remark doesn't relate to TS).
Here it seems, as if they made a few more changes to the Prof tasks again. Well, will see how far I get. This event is still better than many others IMO

Is that IOS or twisted numbers? cos Android shows version 7.8.0 (from date Sept-18, although I'd also say I had a 2nd update yesterday).

I did the small update and refresh the empty Lis in my Playstore. Within half an hour the new update was visible there.
Won't touch it till my co-op has it too, so we can still help each other.

Well they are really showing their greed now....
Before the update you could purchase 1400 tcash for £38.99... now you only get 1130 tcash for the same price.
Looking at the bank they have greatly reduced the amount of tcash you get at all levels.
The game is getting more and more about how much money you can spend, its removing the last remnants of enjoyability.
I’m seriously thinking about hitting the delete button on my game, and saying bye.

Dear Cudzz,
Yesterday I bought the gold pass, my second purchase with real money. First time was to get the bathing Elephants.
I never really need to pay real cash,; now that my movie man is gone the purchase for the pass doesn't influence that.
So it is IMO still possible to play the game without doing that...
And I like you to be around so please don't hit that button!

wow, that are unpleasant numbers and changes!
Thanks for the hint, Cuddz!
And I echo what Ruud said, Cuddz: pls, don't use that button. I would miss you terribly.
And I want to suggest to ignore their greed - no-one can force you to buy sthg. Remember you are here for the ppl that you got to know through this game
I didn't pay attention to the TC numbers, and I had a nice TC sale lately, and almost always have the piggy bank, if I want to buy TC - for me it is sthg else: since I don't have so many development goals anymore in my town (nor the zoo! ;p) I also notice that I am more easily annoyed by sthg, that has changed IMO to become harder - most often it's the trains asking again and AGAIN for TONS of the basic + SAME things (syrup, bakery stuff, etc). But think then, I appreciate the times too much when I "meet" someone in game as that I would go away so easily.
So, pls stay!

Oh Ruud and DD, thank you for being such good friends, because of you and a few others I don’t hit that button
I have to say friends I have made through this game will always be special to me, even though I may never meet them.
And yes I would miss you both tremendously as well,
I was just upset with Playrix and came here to rant, and though it crossed my mind to hit that button, thinking it and actually doing it are very different. There is so much more to appreciate from the game.
I do spend money depending on the circumstances of the game. I know it’s possible to play without spending real cash so now I think I will be getting tcash through the game only.

'Lis' must be 'list' *G*
The secret of being able you in your Town:
Yesterday my co-op leader announced she had the update, we updated together. I finished Regatta on Wednesday, so with the both of us updated I could still help her.
And you of course!

you are right with that "more" IMO, too, and yes, you sounded like just exploding a bit on occasion here, and that's perfectly OK but I also wanted to make you aware (for lack of better expression) not to hit that button in a spontaneous reaction to the next anger!
Cuddz wrote: I do spend money depending on the circumstances of the game. I know it’s possible to play without spending real cash so now I think I will be getting tcash through the game only.
That's fine, if it is enough for your liking or "needs". I do it as I like it. The piggy bank is a nice feature, and I'm not in the group of generally avoiding any purchases either. I'm just thinking / deciding on the basis whether I really want it (esp. deco things), or whether I would just react to a trap the Devs put on.
And quite often these "sales" are in the range of 20 Euro and not worth it, or just 20 % off, and that's not enough usually to be interesting.
But just yesterday I bought a TC sale with a deco I like, and because of it: the Rainbow Ride:
No idea where it exists in RL, though, or why the audience is so excited about a man on a bike!

Last night as usual I closed all open apps and cleared my cache, and did a full restart.
Today I opened TS as usual and had the tcash offer. Initially I was going to ignore it, but, I noticed the prices were the usual amounts we would pay before the update. So I opened the bank...and surprise...all prices were back as they were, so 1400tcash was now costing £38.00 as it had done before. Must have been a glitch and I fell for it ... oh well that’s my luck lol.
DD.. good point to not hit that button in a heat of the moment anger/frustration. I have been online long enough to know things are always different once one has calmed down. But Thank You for caring enough to bring it to my attention.
Naturally I had to buy the offer with the deco, it looks so happy and refreshing.
Like you DD I don’t think I have ever seen this one either in RL, so it could be something the devs created to give us.
Ruud..thank you for your understanding.
I am usually the one telling people to calm down, nothing will change, and the only person hurting is yourself. So it will be a rare occasion that I will be here ranting lol. But Thank You for affording me the opportunity if needed.
Now I have to find a suitable place to put the deco once I take it from my display area.
Another frustration lol...but a happy one

oh, it's good to hear it has been repaired! phew... I'd be curious, though, how such a "glitch" happens...
Cuddz wrote: DD.. good point to not hit that button in a heat of the moment anger/frustration. I have been online long enough to know things are always different once one has calmed down.
oh yes re. long-timer, but in my experience, sometimes exactly that leads to such spontaneous actions, cos we also have been experiencing that frustration long "enough", and often. (and also, cos we know that there so many more games... and one of them will be like the one one leaves... gameplay-wise true, but not when these real ppl are involved ) So, indeed, just put that extra night of sleep in, but you are indeed welcome to leave your frustration here any time!

Just updating every app in the list creates an empty list, but then you can't speak of 'list' anymore
